Om Namo Venkatesaya! On listening to the promise of Srinivasa, Vakula Devi is determined to have a talk with Akasa Raju and his wife Dharani Devi and arrange the marriage of Srinivasa and Padmavati. So she visits the palace. Meanwhile, Srinivasa visits the palace in the disguise of Yerukala Sani. Yerukala Sani is a small community of soothsayers in Andhra Pradesh and adjacent states. The Story of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala - Part 2

Om Namo Venkatesaya! Also Read: Part 1 of the story. Lord Venkateswara decides to stay in this place which is known by the name 'Varaha Kshetra'. According to 'sthala purana', Sri Varaha Swamy (the wild boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu) who decided to stay at this place (Tirumala) for sometime after He kills Hiranyaksha and re-positions Earth. Thus Sri Varaha Swamy becomes the 'Kshetra Palaka' of this place i.e the ruler of the place. Lord Venkateswara seeks Sri Varaha Swamy's permission to stay in His 'Kshetra'. Sri Venkateswara Swamy is the presiding deity of Tirumala - Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. Every year millions of devotees visit the temple to fulfill their vows and seek His blessings. According to 'Sthala puranam' i.e the local ancient texts, here goes the famous story of Lord Venkateswara: The story of Lord Venkateswara Swamy In the ancient times much before Kaliyuga, the sages i.e rishis headed by Sage Kashyapa intended to perform a great sacrifice i.e maha yagnam for the welfare of the society. Why Lord Venkateswara Swamy is called Balaji

Lord Venkateswara Swamy is known by different names like Govinda, Srinivasa, Venkataramana and many more. But interestingly He became popular with the name 'Balaji' in the Northern and Western India. People from the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and other northern states call Lord Venkateswara as Balaji. There are 2-3 different versions / stories on this. The popular one is Hathiram Baba to whom Lord Venkateswara first appeared in the form of a small boy and this he called Lord Venkateswara as Balaji. Story of Hathiram Baba Hathiram Baba was an ardent devotee of Sri Maha Vishnu from his childhood. He had a strong desire to see Lord Vishnu. He came to know that Lord Vishnu has incarnated as Lord Venkateswara and is presided in Tirumala.
