An Education School Tour to Lynd Apple & Fruit Farm at Pataskala near Columbus, Ohio.

I think it was in October 2012, my daughter who was then studying in a play school in Columbus, Ohio, had an apple school tour to Lynd Fruit Farm at Pataskala in Ohio. We were in Columbus, Ohio at that time. There is no transport facility for the play school, so parents were asked to get their kids to Lynd Fruit farm in their own vehicles. It was a cloudy morning and the weather was quite chill. One of my daughter's classmate's parent (an Indian / Keralite) staying close to my house offered help. She took us in her car to the fruit farm. As parents were asked to accompany their kids for the school tour to Apple Farm, I got the wonderful opportunity of visiting the farm. Being a South Indian, I never got the chance of seeing apple trees. And I was too excited to see the apple farm and equally excited on plucking the delicious juicy fruits. It was an an enjoyable drive through the quiet roads in the chill and cloudy morning. We reached Lynd Fruit farm and could see many parents l...

An Exciting Field Trip to Surendrapuri, Nalgonda.

The students of primary classes 2, 3 and 4 of Chinmaya Vidyalaya went on a Field Trip to Surendrapuri on Nov 12, 2016 (Saturday). My daughter (then in Std II) was too excited as she will be going on a long trip to Surendrapuri with her friends. The previous evening she quickly made preparations on her own like backpacking for the next day's field trip. I dumped few dry food stuffs in her backpack like biscuits, potato chips and sweet items too. The next day, I got up early in the morning to prepare and pack breakfast and lunch box for my daughter's trip. The reporting time was 8:00 a.m. My daughter too got up early than usual and got ready for the trip. By the time we reached school, I could see, as always, parents waiting at the respective classrooms to see off their dear little ones. After a couple of minutes wait, there was prayer and meditation. The class teachers took the attendance and on announcement, took the children in lines to board the respective buses. OMG! p...
