Visit to the Ancient Temple of Sri Uma Maheswaram in Achampet near SriSailam

3rd October 2025, the day after Vijaya Dasami - we had an early morning Sparsh darsanam of Srisailam Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and close darsanam of Sri Brahmarambika Devi. After energizing with the divine blessings we went on a boat ride in Patala Ganga and were on our way back to Hyderabad. While driving from Hyderabad to Srisailam, the driver told us about Sri Uma Maheswara Swamy temple - a must-visit place. So on our way back to Hyderabad, he took us to this ancient temple which is located in a serene surroundings of the Nallamalla forest with breathtaking sceneries of the Eastern Ghats and valleys. As we drove on the Srisailam-Hyderabad highway, from the by-pass we took the left turn at the temple arch (kamaan) and we drove deeper into the village side passing through a stretch of lush greenery on either side of the road where there is less of human interference. The Imposing Medak Cathedral Church, Telangana

About the Telangana International Kite Festival (TIKF) Kite flying during Makara Sankranti is an age-old tradition and culture in India. The weather remains favorable during this time to fly kites with bright sunny yet cold and windy days. In view of reviving tradition of flying kites during this time, the Dept of Youth Advancement, Telangana Govt Tourism and Culture in collaboration with the Royal Kite Flyers Club of India and Aga Khan Academy, had initiated the Telangana International Kite Festival. Bathukamma - the Colorful Flower Festival of Telangana

Bonalu and Bathukamma are the official festivals of Telangana. Bathukamma is a festival unique to the state. The festival is celebrated by the women of Telangana during Dussehra Navaratri. During Bathukamma festival the women folk arrange colorful seasonal flowers in a cone shaped structure on a wide plate, place a small idol of Goddess Gowri (Parvati) made of turmeric paste on top of the floral cone and worship Her. Such a unique way of flower arrangement during the festival, is known as Bathukamma. 'Bathuku' is a Telugu word which means 'life' and the Telugu word 'Amma' refers to Mother. In April 2008 we (two families) planned a visit to Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulavada. During our visit, more than a decade back, it was in the Karimnagar district of the then Andhra Pradesh. We started early in the morning from Hyderabad in our vehicle. As it was the month of April, it was too hot. It was around 3.30 hours drive from Hyderabad. We took the Sircilla-Siddipet Road to Karimnagar to reach Vemulavada. About Vemulavada Earlier Vemulavada was a part of Karimnagar District and presently it is in the newly formed district of Rajanna Sircilla. It is a small town and is an important Hindu pilgrim place. Vemulavada is at a distance of 36 Km from Karimnagar. The famous temple of Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy (a form of Lord Shiva) is located in Vemulavada. The primary students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Hyderabad went on a school picnic to The Hidden Castle in Mathpally, Medak District on Friday, December 15, 2017. We the students of Classes 3, 4 and 5 of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Hyderabad went on an educational trip to Masqati Dairy Farm in Gurram Guda and Parle Biscuit Factory in Sayeedabad near Hyderabad on 5th February 2019. Last year in December 2017, we had a wonderful fun-filled day at The Hidden Castle. We all eagerly waited for the day making plans for the trip. On the field trip day we all lined up after our morning prayers, with much excitement and walked out of the classroom. We boarded the respective buses and felt too happy to go on a field trip with our school /classmates. After taking the attendance, teachers also boarded the bus and we all shouted cheerfully as the bus started. We waved our hands to our parents who were waiting outside the buses. A summer evening at NTR Gardens, Hyderabad

NTR Gardens in Hyderabad is centrally located, opposite to Hussain Sagar Lake. The Park is one of the top attractions of Hyderabad and is heavily crowded with visitors particularly in the evenings. The park is a recreational centre for both children and adults who love to hang out at this place. The timings of the garden are 2.30 p.m to 8.30 p.m and on holidays the timings are 12.30 p.m to 8.30 p.m. The park is open on all days. It's extremely hot in summer in Hyderabad, so evenings are the best time to move out along with children. There is spacious car parking however it's a bit difficult to get parking lot. There are different gates for gents and ladies to enter inside. At the entrance there are statues of golden bulls (Nandi) on either side and fountain at the centre.
