Visit To Kanchi Kamakshi Temple On A Friday During Dussehra Navaratri, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu

During Dussehra Navaratri in October 2018 we went on a family trip to Tamil Nadu. We took the morning flight from Hyderabad to Chennai. On Day 1 of our trip we visited Kapaleeshwar temple in Mylapore and Parthasarathy temple in Triplicane, Chennai. On Day 2 we went on a temple tourism in Kanchipuram. We started early morning from Chennai and reached Varadaraja Perumal temple in Vishnu Kanchi where we spent some time in the morning. From Varadaraja Perumal temple we proceeded to Kanchi Kamakshi temple popularly known as Kamakshi Amman temple. By the time we reached the temple it was around 11 a.m. I felt very much blessed as our visit was on a Friday during Dussehra festival (a highly auspicious day of the year), the day of the week which is very dear to Amman (Ammavaru) and the important festival of Amman. Morning Visit To Varadaraja Perumal Temple in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu

On Day 2 of our Tamil Nadu tour we started early in the morning from Chennai in a car and reached Kanchipuram by 7.30 a.m. Our trip planner included visits to the important temples depending on time taken for darshans, in the ancient city of Kanchi. Our first visit was to Varadaraja Perumal temple in Vishnu Kanchi. There are two distinct divisions of Kanchi - one is Vishnu Kanchi where the temple of Varadaraja Swamy is located and the other is Siva Kanchi where the temple of Ekambareswarar is located. Varadaraja Perumal temple also known as Devarajaswamy temple is highly sacred for Vaishnavites and Kanchipuram is one of the seven teerthas (pilgrimages) in Vaishnavism. Visit to Ekambareswarar Temple in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu

On Day 1 of our Tamil Nadu tour in October 2018 during Dussehra Navaratri we visited the temples of Kapaleeshwarar in Mylapore and Parthasarathy temple in Triplicane, Chennai. And on Day 2 of our trip we started early in the morning from Chennai in a cab and reached Kancheepuram by 7.30 a.m. At this ancient temple town we first visited the famous Varadaraja Perumal temple in Vishnu Kanchi and from there we went to Kamakshi temple which was heavily crowded with devotees as it was Dussehra festival time. It was afternoon by the time we finished our darshan and came out of the temple. We had our lunch in Hotel Saravana Bhavan, refreshed for a while and then proceeded to Ekambareshwar temple. Ekambareswar Temple known as Ekambaranathar Temple in Tamil is located in Siva Kanchi division of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
