Rhine (also spelled as Rhein) Falls is a 150 m wide and 23 m high waterfalls located near Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. The natural beauty of the falls is overwhelming and the amount of water peaks in summer months of June / July. During our 5-day Switzerland tour, a visit to Rhine Falls was included in our Day 3 itinerary. After an adventurous day at Mt Titlis on Day 2 of our Switzerland trip, we proceeded to Lucerne for hanging around leisurely in the evening along Lake Lucerne and the city. The picturesque town of Lucerne (also spelled as Luzern) is located at the foot of Swiss Alps in Central Switzerland with breathtaking mountain and lake views. As we reached Lucerne we walked to a chocolate factory for purchasing famous Swiss chocolates. We had to spend much time at this place as it was heavily crowded with tourists, in particular Indian tourists who were busy picking up Swiss chocos. At this place there was World's largest bubble gum in display for sale. Few tourists picked up this item but somehow I didn't go for this. There was also a very big chocolate for sale in the shop. In the morning on Day 1 of our Switzerland tour, we visited the Cuckoo Clock Factory at Drubba in the Black Forest region of Germany. We then spent a pleasant afternoon at Lake Titisee in Germany, had pure veg lunch at an Indian restaurant in Titisee town and then proceeded to Interlaken - one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland. The small and beautiful resort town of Interlaken (means 'between the lakes') is nestled between two lakes viz. We went on a 5-day Switzerland tour and stayed in Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Basel. Our Day 1 itinerary including visit to Cuckoo Clock Factory at Drubba in the Black Forest region in Germany where we had a wonderful experience. We had some cherished moments this year visiting few popular tourist attractions in Switzerland. It was a 5-day trip from July 1st to 5th, 2019. July is peak summer in Switzerland when the weather is cool and pleasant and is the best time for Indian tourists, in particular for South Indian tourists, to visit Switzerland. On Day 2 (July 3rd, 2019) we had the most adventurous trip to Mt Titlis - the mountain of eternal snow and glacier in Swiss Alps. Coincidentally, July 3rd is my husband's birthday, so we were too excited as we were going to celebrate his birthday on the top of Swiss Alps at a height of 10,000 ft above MSL (mean sea level). In this post I am recalling our (self and husband) short stay in London, one of the dream destinations in the world, in November 2007. We had been to London on an official trip. It was a suspense till the last minute as our visas were not ready. Our flight tickets were booked in Jet Airways and it was just one day before our journey that our visas got approved. We had too short time for packing our baggage. We were literally on toes shopping all the necessary stuff and then packing up which was done in a day. I took few ready-to-eat veggie stuff for our initial stay as I was in complete darkness about veg food in London. I was a bit excited as that was my first international flight-experience.
