Madikeri aka Mercara is one of the beautiful hill stations in the Coorg district of Karnataka. This hill station is cool, serene, clean and unpolluted and is full of tourist attractions. When summer is peak in other parts of the country, the weather in this small hill station is enjoyable. We (self and husband) had been to Madikeri in May 2008. It's more than a decade yet I enjoy a stroll down the memory lane in summer. We stayed in a pre-booked home stay where we had a comfortable home-like stay. On Day 1, we visited the unique temple of Omkareshwara to offer our morning prayers. From here we took a cab to Abbi Falls aka Abbey Falls which is one of the top tourist attraction in Madikeri. Abbi falls is hardly 10 Km away from the main town of Madikeri. From the main town, the cab drove on the Galibeedu Rd which is narrow with steep ups and downs and twists and turns.
