School Essay On Indian Independence Day

Here is a simple and easy essay on the Indian Independence day which would be useful for the school students in India.

Indian subcontinent was under the British rule for more than 200 years and the country became free from the British rule on August 15' 1947. Hence this day is a great day for the Indians and is celebrated across the country as Independence day with great fervor and patriotic feeling. The government of India has declared this day of national importance as a National holiday. Educational institutions, government offices and most of the private offices across the country remain closed on August 15.

In the Parade Ground at Red Fort in New Delhi, the honorable Prime Minister of India unfurls the National Tricolor Flag which is followed by the singing of National Anthem and a speech by Prime Minister. In most of the educational institutions and government offices across the country, our National Flag is unfurled and teachers, principals and students give special patriotic speeches on the special occasion. They remember and remind the young generation of the great sacrifices of our freedom fighters for getting independence of India.

In every Indian state capital, the Chief Minister of the state unfurls the National Flag which is then followed by a parade.

This is a great day of our motherland and every citizen need to take oath on this day to be a responsible citizen and thus express their patriotism towards their country. Each one of us should abide by the rules and try to do something in return for the welfare of our society and try to take India far ahead on the roads of development.
