A Peaceful Stay in Hotel at Mussoorie, Uttarakhand

We went on short trip to few places in Uttarkhand and Himachal Pradesh in April 2023. On Day 1 of our trip we spent the evening at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar but were a bit disappointed as we couldn't watch the evening Ganga aarti.

We had our night stay at a hotel in Rishikesh. The next day i.e. on 24 April 2023 we visited Triveni Ghat and spent the day on sight-seeing in Rishikesh. After spending the day on sight-seeing at Rishikesh we continued our trip and had an Enchanting Road Trip to Mussoorie.

We reached our destination Hotel Mussoorie Gateway at around 7 p.m and were cordially welcomed by the staff. We were very much impressed on seeing the beautiful look of the hotel and peaceful ambiance of the place.
We took the room in the upper tier as we can have a captivating valley view from the balcony. Though we had our woollen jackets we felt too cold as being from Hyderabad we are not used to such a cold weather in April. On entering into our room in the upper tier, we refreshed with hot water and had a steaming hot cup of refreshing chai and ordered aloo parantha for dinner.
During our entire Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh tour we had aloo or gobi paranthas for lunch / brunch and dinner. And poha with onions and bread butter for breakfast. Being rice eaters from South India we had to compromise with the breakfast and lunch. After dinner when we opened the balcony door to peep outside we were awed at the panoramic night view of the valley from our balcony. Though the weather was too cold outside, we stood in the balcony for sometime enjoying the captivating view of Shivalik range and I felt this was the best part of our trip.
On seeing the beautiful aerial view of the illuminated Doon valley at first I didn't know which city or town was there in the valley. But on inquiring we came to know that it is the night view of Dehradun city. OMG! the view was awesome from the balcony. After enjoying the fascinating view for a while we retired to bed and drew ourselves inside the thick blankets.

Let's have a briefing on Mussoorie which is one of the most popular hill stations in Uttarkhand and is a real paradise for the travelers with its scenic beauty. This hill station is located at a height of 2000 metres above sea level. It is the gateway to the holy places of Gangotri and Yamunotri. This beautiful hill station is rich in green mountains that are rich in varied flora and fauna. From here tourists can have a wonderful view of the mighty Himalayan ranges and the Doon valley. In fact Mussoorie is a wonderland and a paradise for nature lovers. The name of the place is derived from the Mansoor plants, a local shrubs that grow here. Local people call this place as Mansuri.A British military officer along with two other officials explored this beautiful hill station and they established their lodge here.
We had a cozy night sleep and the next day morning we woke up with the chirping of birds. I immediately opened the door curtains of the balcony and stood for a while admiring the serene beauty of the Himalayan range. This is the best place to relax, refresh and recharge for those who want to have a break from the hectic and stressful life. We spent time sitting in the balcony staring and admiring the serene ambiance.
After that, our Day 3 itinerary of our trip included visit to Kempty Falls, Company Gardens and Tibetan Monestary. While we were enjoying the spectacular Himalayan beauty at the Tibetan Monestary suddenly the weather turned cloudy and rainy. So we were back to our room a bit early but no regrets as the rainy view from the balcony was equally enjoyable.
After a memorable Day 3 in Mussoorie we went to bed in happy mood. On Day 4 we proceeded to Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. We knew that it was long road trip but we had no other option. I think we couldn't make a proper trip planner which is very important for a trip. Anyways stay tuned to read how we spent the day at Kempty Falls, Company Garden and Tibetan Monastery.

Mussoorie is undoubtedly one of the best hill stations for family trips, honeymoon and for solo travelers too. The local people are smiling and friendly natured which is one of the main reasons for the tourism development of the place.
