A Pleasant Evening At Kursaal Park In Interlaken Switzerland

In the morning on Day 1 of our Switzerland tour, we visited the Cuckoo Clock Factory at Drubba in the Black Forest region of Germany. We then spent a pleasant afternoon at Lake Titisee in Germany, had pure veg lunch at an Indian restaurant in Titisee town and then proceeded to Interlaken - one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland.

The small and beautiful resort town of Interlaken (means 'between the lakes') is nestled between two lakes viz. Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the mountainous Bernese Oberland region of central Switzerland. As we travel towards Interlaken, the lakes and the Bernese Alps offer panoramic views of the surroundings. The lakes welcome the tourists with their amazing scenic beauty as the tourists enter the town of Interlaken.

The amazing landscapes and vegetation compliment the old charm of the town. As the town of Interlaken is situated on the edge of Jungfraujoch mountain, it offers rich in natural beauty. Kursaal Park and the Town Centre which are at the foothill of Mt Jungfraujoch, are a bit busy and bustling areas.

It was around 5.30 p.m by the time we reached the city of Interlaken. I have no words to describe the scenic beauty of this place. Simply awesome and amazing!.

As we walked towards Kursaal Park, we could see the snow-covered Jungfraujoch mountain from a distance.
And as we entered the park we were stunned at the beauty of the place with central fountain and the colorful blooms.
Kursaal Park, with its magnificent floral display in the heart of the town, is a must-visit tourist attraction particularly for Indians as there is a life-size bronze statue of Indian filmaker (Late) Yash Chopra in this park.
The surroundings were neat and pollution-free and I could see many Indian tourists hanging around at this place taking clicks. A large part of the Bollywood blockbuster DDLJ was shot at this place only and hence Interlaken gained popularity among Indians.

After hanging around the park for a while enjoying the beautiful Mother Nature, we walked to the Town Centre.
There were charming flowering plants on either side of the road and there is a large open space on the other side of the road where we could see some tourists paragliding.

Town Centre is the busy area in the town. However being an Indian, I didn't find the place busy as I am used to super busy / crowded roads in India.
I felt as if I have seen this road many times, the reason, many Indian movies are shot at this place. We didn't do any purchases at this place but just spent time amidst Mother Nature enjoying / appreciating Her beauty at this place.

After spending some time at this place, we started our return journey to Basel. On our return journey, it rained heavily and the beauty of the place doubled.
Sunset is late during summers in Europe. After a one and half hours ride we reached our Hotel in Basel at around 8.30 p.m. We were damn tired after a day full of visits to tourists attractions. After refreshing ourselves we had Indian veg dinner and went to bed early.
