A joyous boat ride at Lumbini Park in Hyderabad

Lumbini Park in Hyderabad, despite the tragic event of bomb blast in the past, still attracts tourists. The park is heavily crowded during summer when tourists can have a joyous boat ride in Hussain Sagar. The cool breeze while on ride with a view of the city roads and the vehicles on move is a real enjoyable one.
Lumbini Park is one of the most visited tourist attractions of Hyderabad. It is on the shores of Hussain Sagar in the heart of the city and is easily reachable.

The park is located just opposite to the New Gate of Secretariat Building in Hyderabad.  It remains open for the visitors from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. The park is closed on Mondays.

You have to buy tickets at the entrance of the park. Entry fee for adults is Rs.10/- and it is Rs.5/- for children between 5-12 age group.

Lumbini Park is one of the most preferred hangouts on the banks of Hussain Sagar. It is maintained by Buddha Purnima Project Authority (BPPA). The park was renamed as T.Anjaiah Lumbini Park in honor of the ex-Chief Minister of the then Andhra Pradesh. You can visit the park at any time of the year but spring (Feb / Mar) is the most preferred season.

There are some attractions inside the park. As you enter inside the park you can see lots of people enjoying at the water cascade taking snaps and getting drenched in the waters. On the other side, there is Musical Fountain which operates from 6.30 p.m to 8 p.m. This is one of the attractions that children enjoy the most.
There is a tall tower of circular ride. You can go on a ride along with children for enjoying a wonderful view of the city. From a height you can have a nice view of Hussain Sagar, Buddha Statue, traffic on the roads and other iconic structures like Birla Mandir. Ticket for the ride is Rs.30/- per person and for children whose height is 3 feet and above.
A boat ride on Hussain Sagar is a wonderful experience particularly for children who enjoy the most. There are speed boats for youngsters who enjoy the ride with screams and shouts. While there are mechanized boats for family and children. 

For mechanized boats, you need to buy tickets at the counter. It is Rs.55/- for adults and Rs.35/- for children between 5-12. These boats take you on a ride from the bank / shore and drop you at Buddha Statute island. You have to get down here, go round the statute, take photos, enjoy the waters of Hussain Sagar, the cool breeze, the city view from the island and then sit for a while in front of Lord Buddha and meditate. You can stay at this place for 10-15 minutes and then get back into the boat. You are again dropped at the bank i.e at the same point where you boarded the boat.  
While riding in the boat you can enjoy the city view, its roads and traffic, sunset and the cool breeze. This is a wonderful place to visit with family and friends. The park is well maintained with clean surroundings. You can get lots of food stuffs inside.

There is also laser show at the park which begins at 7.00 p.m / 7.15 p.m and it is a half-an-hour show. You need to buy tickets for the show. It is Rs.50/- per person.

It's a place where children enjoy the most particularly during vacation time. They don't feel like getting back to their homes but want to spend more and more time in the park to play slides and swings in the children's play zone.
