A Day with the wild at Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, PA

Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, PA is a good place to visit with family and kids. The zoo is located at 1661, Harding Blvd in Norristown, PA. It's around 30 minutes drive from King of Prussia mall

It's a cool and serene place which is less crowded even during weekends. There are tall shaded trees and spacious free parking lot. We walked to the entrance and bought entrance tickets. Though there is option for online purchase of ticket, it is not necessary as you need not stand in long lines even on weekends. I think we paid around $10 (subject to change) and entered into the park zoo which was cool with tall trees all around.

The zoo closes by 5 p.m and entry into the park is closed by 4.30 p.m. It remains closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, New Year's Eve and New Year's day.
Totem at the entrance
There is a tall totem at the entrance. Amidst the greenery at the entrance, there stood the bald eagle.

It's in a small area, so we could easily walk around along with our 2 year old daughter in her stroller. She was too excited to see the wild animals, birds, butterflies, reindeer moving around in wilderness. Without a zoo map in hand, we just walked and walked in the ups and downs, talking halt at each place and clicking our cam all through.
Black panther and striped tiger
Visitors stood at this place for a while and were too excited to see a small fight between the two big cats - the black panther and the striped tiger.
And there the lioness having an afternoon relax on the rocks. May be wondering how crazy these humans are.
Well, these flamingos are my daughter's favorite thing. We slowly along the ups and downs of the park zoo and enjoyed the wild in cool atmosphere.
And there the lovely colorful macaws. My daughter could stop her excitement on seeing these colorful friendly birds. We spent some time here with the colorful wild and then walked down towards the exit as it was going to be close time.

As we walked towards the exit, we could see huge reindeer relaxing in the wild.
There are few attractions for kids in the zoo like Caterpillar Train ride, Carousal ride, pony rides and animal feeding. But we didn't visit these attractions due to time constraint. There is even children's play zone where children can enjoy while parents can relax after the long tiresome walks.

It was wonderful experience spending the afternoon amidst the wild in a cool and less crowded place.

As always, I entered into the gift shop and made small purchase. Just bought a set of wild animals for my daughter which she treasured.

Indians in and around Philly, you are sure to enjoy this quite place with your family. Your children too would love to be in the wild for a while.

Republic Day speech for school principal

This Republic Day speech would be useful for the school principal to be delivered on the occasion.

Vande Mataram!

Esteemed teachers and my dear students

Wish you all a Happy Republic Day!

Today we all have gathered here to celebrate our 69th Republic Day. On this auspicious occasion I extend my heartiest greetings and good wishes to you all.  As we all know about the importance of Republic Day, I need not speak much about this special day. However we need to be grateful to the founding fathers who formulated and drafted an exemplary Constitution of India that has steered India towards progress and development. Due to the untiring efforts of the great leaders / freedom fighters of our nation under oppressive conditions, we / you all are fortunate of being born in independent India. Now we as the citizens of this great nation and you children as the future citizens of the country, need to re-dedicate ourselves to build a stronger and developed nation.

Just now we have unfurled our Natio…
