Children, summer vacation will be over within a couple of weeks and it's time to gear up yourselves for getting back to school. On the reopening day, you will be mostly you will be asked either to speak or writing on how you spent your summer vacation.

You might have enjoyed a lot in the vacation spending time family and friends or visiting to hill resort / a wildlife sanctuary / a theme park / a water world / sea beach or other such places. Here is a sample writing for you on the topic.

. Summer vacation is a big relief. No getting-up in the early mornings, no books, no home-works, no reading but just enjoy a full month, the way I like.

Last summer, we had visited Ooty (here you can mention the place you visited last summer) which was cool during summer and I enjoyed the stay with my sister. This year, I and my sister / brother, visited our grand parents and spent our vacation with our grand parents, uncles, aunts and first cousins at Vijayawada (write the place where your grand parents stay). Summer is terrible in this place, yet we had an enjoyable time spending mostly indoors and having splashes in the swimming pool in the evenings. After a long gap we all cousins got the chance of meeting in our grand parent's place where we had lots of fun and shared lots of things.

In those 15 days, we all cousins could understand the importance of joint family and realize the joy of being in a joint family where every family member cares for every other member with much affection and love. Most importantly, we learnt certain values of life from our grand parents who took time to impart values in particular family values in us - their grand children. This gave us immense joy to gain knowledge from our elders who always wish for the well-being of their family members.

During free time, my grandma told us many moral stories and stories from the Hindu mythology. The stories are not only interesting but are motivating and inspirational as well. We got to learn many moral / ethical values from these stories. We all don't even know, how fast time flew and it was time for us to move. We felt heavy at heart with the very thought of departing as most of the time we were together enjoying indoor games, evening splashes in the in swimming pool, watching movies, listening to stories, sharing some light work etc.

It was not a festive season, yet my grandma prepared typical traditional dishes as we all are leaving on the day. She prepared my favorite sweet dish which are sweet stuffed balls known as burelu. As per the custom, she also prepared tamarind rice / pulihora and served us with utmost care and interest which was thousand times sweeter than the sweet.

Finally, it was time to depart and we returned to our place of stay i.e Hyderabad. I still remember those lovable 15 days which I cherish each moment. This summer vacation is an eye opener for me as I happen to learn certain values in life which I could only because of my association with other family members.

I suddenly felt how unfortunate I am for being in a nuclear family. I felt as if I am at great loss as I could see people around me are too mechanical and too much money minded.

However, I had a great time at my grand parents house which I enjoyed the most.
