Indian Independence Day speech for school students

Hi children
After Republic Day speech it is time to prepare an inspiring speech for the Indian Independence day. This year India will be celebrating her 68th Independence Day. You might be doing a lot of web search for presenting a good speech in the Independence Day celebrations in your school. Here is an inspiring speech for you on Indian Independence day.

Vande Mataram!

Distinguished Chief Guest, Honorable Principal (or Head Master / Head Mistress), esteemed teachers and my dear friends

First of all I sincerely thank our Principal and teachers for giving me an opportunity to deliver a speech on this auspicious day. Well, you all know that we have completed 70 glorious years of free India and this year (2017) we are celebrating our 71st year of Independence. I am happy to say that we all are fortunate to be born in the free India. Before I start my speech, let us all pay tributes to our great freedom fighters for their struggle in the freedom movement. Friends, let us not forget their sacrifices in achieving freedom for our country. August 15, 1947 is a day which not only is remembered by every Indian but also it is the day that brings patriotic spirit in every Indian.

As we have been studying / are studying the freedom movement in our history lessons, I don't think it is necessary for me to remind you of this great movement. We are the future citizens of the country and it is our moral responsibility to take our Motherland ahead on the roads on development. As per the words of our beloved ex-President Late Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, let's have a vision of developed India and let us all dream for a developed India. Of course, dreaming of a developed India is not just sufficient but we. as the future citizens, should strive to fulfill the same.

Let us think what are our civic responsibilities and let's try to be law abiding citizens instead of taking pride in law-breaking citizens. Making our country a developed one is not the sole responsibility of any one citizen or one organization or the govt but it is a collective responsibility of all the citizens including the organizations and the govt. When we develop such a team spirit and work together with cooperation, we are sure to achieve success and could surely make our India a developed one in the coming years.

Dear friends, don't think that our patriotism lies only in celebrating our National festivals, unfurling our National Tricolor Flag, singing our National Anthem Jana Gana Mana, delivering speeches and then dispersing from the assembly. But we need to show our true patriotism towards our country by being good law abiding citizens and thus help the govt in functioning properly / smoothly instead of making it difficult to work.

One more thing, I would like to mention on this occasion. As we are proud of our rich cultural heritage, let's strive to be worthy of it and let's not make our Motherland bow down her face in shame due to our activities. We all are living in a cultured society and let us have freedom from gender discrimination. Let the fairer sex of our country is fully empowered and enjoy the freedom of its thoughts.

A healthy living is a happy living and for a healthy living, cleanliness plays a key role. Friends, let us all collectively work towards 'Swach Bharat'. Should we carry brooms in our hands and sweep the roads or our school premises as a part of Swach Bharat? No, not at all. Keeping our surroundings, our classrooms, our school premises clean, is what we need to do. Make the wise use of the trash bins and drop the wastes in the bins only instead of throwing these here and there. Let's strive for a cleaner and healthier India.

At this juncture, I would like to give few concluding words to my today's speech. We, as the future citizens of our nation, let us all try to live together with a cordial and harmonious relationship. We should remember the fact that we are one country and we need to work together with a team spirit. We cannot make our country a developed one unless and until we join hands and work together.

Maa Tujhe Salam!  Jai Hind!
